⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
Newcastle’s away form has been an issue this season, with only three wins from 14 matches across the Premier League and Champions League. A trip to Paris is about as demanding as it gets, especially with Achraf Hakimi back from AFCON, which strengthens PSG on both sides of the pitch. Eddie Howe may also be short on options, with Sandro Tonali and Joelinton doubts, while Bruno Guimarães was absent in last Sunday’s loss to Aston Villa. |

PSG -1 Handicap |
1.78 @ BC.Game |
⭐⭐⭐ |
PSG have been reliable at Parc des Princes, winning five of their last six home matches and placing themselves in a strong position to seal a last-16 spot with another win. On home turf, this is a setting where the French champions usually handle business. Newcastle did take a point in Paris two seasons ago, but the gap between the sides has widened since then. PSG have since lifted the Champions League and come into this match with the most goals scored in the group stage, netting 20, which underlines their attacking threat. |

Team Form: PSG vs Newcastle
From my point of view, PSG are right on the doorstep of another Champions League knockout spot. One more win would send them through for the 14th season in a row, which pretty much sums up how reliable they’ve been at this level. Add in the fact they’ve climbed back to the top of Ligue 1, and it’s easy to see how that league form is carrying over into their European games.
At home, they’ve been dependable. Five wins from the last six at Parc des Princes is exactly why teams don’t enjoy coming here. I also think PSG’s recent results against English sides in Paris matter more than people admit, and it adds to the feeling that they’re comfortable in this type of fixture.
Newcastle have already done something special by reaching the knockout rounds, with at least a playoff place secured. That’s a big step for the club. Still, I don’t expect them to settle, especially knowing a win here could move them into the top eight.
The concern is form. They’ve managed just one win from their last four across all competitions, and scoring has clearly been a struggle. Away from home, results have been hit-and-miss, and they still haven’t beaten a Ligue 1 team on French soil. That said, there’s at least some confidence to take from the fact they’ve yet to lose to PSG in Champions League meetings.
PSG Team News
PSG has a few fitness questions to manage. Fabian Ruiz remains out with a knee issue, while Matvey Safonov continues to struggle with a hand injury. João Neves is being monitored due to thigh and muscle problems.
There are also minor knocks for Nuno Mendes and Quentin Ndjantou Mbitcha. Achraf Hakimi is expected to be assessed late after returning from AFCON, while Lucas Hernandez is available again after suspension.
In attack, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored on matchday seven, and both Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué are pushing for starts after coming off the bench against Auxerre.
Newcastle Team News
From my side, Newcastle doesn’t arrive at full strength. Jacob Murphy and Tino Livramento are both ruled out with hamstring problems, while Jamaal Lascelles is still dealing with a muscle injury. There are also doubts over Fabian Schär and Bruno Guimarães, as both are nursing ankle issues.
I do expect Joelinton to be involved from the start despite a minor knock. William Osula, who missed the Champions League win over PSV, was at least back on the bench against Aston Villa. In that PSV game, Yoane Wissa, Guimarães, and Harvey Barnes all found the net, and Nick Pope picked up his fourth clean sheet of the tournament, only needing to make one save.

Head-to-Head: Last 5 Meetings
From what I’ve seen in recent meetings, Newcastle has had the upper hand. They’ve gone two games without losing against PSG, including that 4–1 win at home in the 2023/24 season. In both matches, each side managed to score, but Newcastle were clearly more effective, coming out on top 5–2 in total.

GoalBible Conclusion
From my own betting angle at GoalBible, this feels like a night where PSG’s experience and home control make the difference. Newcastle looked flat against Aston Villa last weekend, and that kind of performance is risky in Paris. I’m backing PSG to win with over 2.5 goals @ 2.19 with BC.Game, which still feels fair given the setting, team news, and attacking output on display.
