FIFA World Cup 2026 Group K: Prediction, Latest Odds, Squad analysis by GoalBible
Portugal headline World Cup 2026 Group K, facing Colombia, Uzbekistan, and the IC Path 1 winner (DR Congo, Jamaica and New Caledonia). From a betting angle, this group looks straightforward on paper, but I think there is more depth here than the market suggests.
As a regular punter at GoalBible, I always look beyond headline prices. Group K offers value spots, especially in goalscorer and match markets.

Portugal Group K Odds
If you ask me, Portugal deserves to be the favourites in Group K. They came through UEFA qualifying without too much trouble, finishing top of Group F. One defeat in six matches and 20 goals scored tells you they were in control for most of that campaign. From what I watched, they looked efficient rather than flashy — and that usually works well in tournament football.
They’ve qualified for the last six tournaments, but only once have they gone beyond the quarter-finals; that fourth-place finish in 2006 still stands as their best modern run. In 2022 in Qatar, they reached the last eight again but were knocked out by Morocco that surprised many of us. I remember that game clearly. Portugal had the talent, but things simply did not click when it mattered.
Looking ahead to 2026, Cristiano Ronaldo is heading into what should be his final World Cup. You can see the motivation, as this is the one major trophy missing from his career. Around him, there’s serious attacking support from Rafael Leao, Pedro Neto, and Bruno Fernandes.
Midfield is where I feel Portugal might quietly dominate. Joao Neves and Vitinha have developed into top-level operators at PSG, and they control tempo very well. Add Bernardo Silva and Joao Palhinha, and you get a midfield that can both create and protect. Behind them, Ruben Dias, Andre Silva, and Joao Cancelo are offering width and attacking support from defence.
Colombia Group K Odds
Colombia finished third in CONMEBOL qualifying, separated by fine margins in a tightly packed South American campaign. They lost just four of 18 matches, but conceded over one goal per game — that defensive record concerns me slightly. This will be Colombia’s seventh World Cup appearance. Their best finish came in 2014, reaching the quarter-finals. They missed out in 2022, so there is extra motivation here.
Uzbekistan Group K Odds
This is Uzbekistan’s first World Cup appearance as an independent nation. That alone makes this campaign historic. They finished second in AFC Group A qualifying, with 2 points behind Iran but leading the United Arab Emirates by 6 points. They averaged 1.4 goals per game and conceded 0.7. However, facing Portugal and Colombia is on a different level. If I had to consider anything involving Uzbekistan, it would be low-scoring match angles rather than outright progression.
IC Path 1 Winner Group K Odds
Group K will be completed by the IC Path 1 winner — DR Congo, Jamaica, or New Caledonia. The playoff structure sees Jamaica face New Caledonia in a semi-final, with the winner meeting DR Congo. DR Congo is viewed as the strongest side in this path. New Caledonia is considered underdogs.
Whichever nation qualifies will enter Group K as underdogs. However, with eight third-placed teams progressing to the knockout stage in the FIFA 2026 format, there is a realistic route to qualification. If DR Congo qualify, I would monitor them closely in physical matchups. They tend to compete well athletically.
